My phone died completely one day, and no hacks from YouTube worked to get it any sign of life (I bought a new device meanwhile, but wanted to get some data off of it that wasn’t backed up). I took it here on a bit of a lark (closest repair shop to my apartment) though it wasn’t the easiest to find (on a lower floor, near a different phone-repair shop, and with other services such as money transfer inside the same physical store, the phone supply/repair section being in the back left). I was helped out by Alejandra (who FWIW was perfectly fluent in Spanish & English), who was very clear and communicative about possibilities, disclaimers, potential costs, etc. I paid the modest fee for the diagnostic evaluation beyond her initial checks, which required the phone be taken apart, etc. (fee would have also been applied to any ultimate repair costs). Got a call early next day with positive news: the problem was identified and the phone was now partially usable (apparently LCD lights blew out, but after some of her adjustments, the screen was faintly visible, and touchscreen functionality was fully intact). Alejandra was super flexible about potential options, e.g. replace broken parts (for about half the cost I was seeing online), have her try to do backups, have me try to do backups, etc. In the end (given my needs/preferences) she let me sit a while in the store, connect to her WiFi, cast my phone’s screen to her monitor (allowing me to fully see the display (fortunately I already had a casting app on the phone, though could’ve downloaded another while there)), and get the data/files I needed off it onto an SD card or into the cloud. She also generously offered additional options like use of a mouse (although it only partially worked), or if I had wanted, to use her computer, or to do it on mine if I wanted to bring it in. She was also very respectful of my privacy while I was transferring things. There were no hard sales pitches for other options, which was also really appreciated given my current financial status. Basically, this was the absolute best outcome I could have hoped for given the circumstances. I’d highly recommend Alejandra / P&C Rápido Fix to anyone needing phone repair services.
